Fees – Landlords and Tenants

Tenant Permitted Payments

In addition to rent, the following payments may be required from tenants. All fees are inclusive of VAT where VAT is applicable.
 

• Holding Deposit: equivalent to one week's rent, to reserve a property (to be deducted from the first month's rent on completion of a tenancy, subject to the Tenant Fees Act 2019)

• Tenancy Deposit: equivalent to four weeks' rent, held in accordance with a government-approved tenancy deposit scheme

• Rent: as set out in the tenancy agreement

• Payments for variation, assignment or novation of a tenancy: where requested by the tenant and permitted by law

• Reasonable charges for replacement of lost keys or security devices: charged at cost

• Interest on late rent: charged at 3% above the Bank of England base rate, applicable when rent is more than 14 days late

• Early termination charges: where requested by the tenant and permitted by law, covering reasonable costs incurred by the landlord and/or agent
